Athletics
Athletics play a significant part in student life at Saint Joseph’s High School. Whether as a participant or spectator each student experiences a sense of pride, excitement and accomplishment. In 2004 SJHS became a member of the Northern Indiana Conference (NIC) a highly competitive group of nine schools in the Saint Joseph County area. Over 70% of the student body actively participates in our extensive 22-sport program involving 42 separate teams.

SJHS has had phenomenal athletic success in its 56-year history , capturing 10 NIC League Titles, 140 Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Sectional Titles, 61 IHSAA Regional Titles, 21 IHSAA Semi-State Titles, 12 IHSAA Runner up Titles, and 8 State Champion Titles. In addition to those team successes, SJHS has produced 9 individual IHSAA Champions.

SJHS’ success in sports is due to the quality of an experienced coaching staff and the overall enthusiastic response of our student athletes. Eighteen of the head and assistant coaches are educators and as such, realize the primary importance of performance in the classroom. The discipline and respect generated in the academic area, along with the spirit and enthusiasm of hundreds of students and the support of active alumni has resulted in a competitive and highly successful athletic program. At SJHS, academics and athletics go hand in hand.
